E3: The Best Game

There were some truly great game demos shown off at E3, you had Tomb Raider, Watch Dogs, Halo 4 and plenty of others but, for me, the most exciting game of E3 has to the The Last of Us.

Although Watch Dogs wins the prize of most innovative game, The Last of Us just looks too good to be beaten. Naughty Dog of course have fantastic credentials thanks to the Jak and Daxter and Uncharted Series but both of those series of games are very lighthearted, The Last of Us looks to be quite a departure from that.

The Last of Us is a post-apocalyptic third person action game whose main characters, Joel and Ellie, are trying to travel through. There'll be plenty of running around and climbing over obstacles a la Uncharted but the overall tone and design is far darker. This is also reflected in the combat, instead of joyously snapping necks and gunning people down you'll struggle with them and choke the air out of the them and, when using a gun, you have to be aware of how little ammo you have.

The graphics, story, script and voice acting also look to be at the same high standard that we expect from a Naughty Dog game and, all things considered, if its not Game of the Year I'll eat my PlayStation.

  1. Yeah agree with you here. Naughty Dog do have a great track record of awesome stuff. Will it be game of the year you may be right.

  2. Tried to follow E3 as much as I could. The atmosphere there looked great and I wish I could get there one year. Its a dream I have but guess unless a miracle happens I wont be going.Naughty Dog always seem to set a high standard so reckon your PlayStation wont need to be eaten.
